Gauthier Ismail joined the Group’s Board of Directors in 2018, where he brings his 15-year expertise in entrepreneurship and change management.
After starting his career at PwC Corporate Finance in France, he joined his family-owned Groupe Socota in 2004 where he has been involved in the set-up of the world very first organic gambas farming operation in Madagascar. Under Gauthier and his brother’s leadership, this division turned in less than 5 years from a EUR 13-million company to a EUR 275-million group fully integrated from production to distribution in Europe which is today the largest seafood company in the French market. Over the last 15 years, Gauthier has been involved in around 20 M&A operations among them the MBO of Speedy France in 2011. In 2013, he founded Origins, a Mauritius-based financial services firm encouraging entrepreneurs in the region to reinvest a portion of their assets in their home countries
He graduated in finance from Lyon Graduate School of Management (EM Lyon, France) and holds an aircraft fixed wing pilot certificate (FAA, USA).
