With more than 20 years of investment banking and asset management experience acquired at JPMorgan and with global hedge fund managers in London, Frankfurt and Paris, Patrick is a seasoned chief operating officer, experienced in managing complex projects and programs, with in-depth knowledge of financial, risk management, technology and human resources aspects of managing trading, brokerage and investment teams in highly regulated business environments. At JPMorgan, Patrick held multiple senior management positions with responsibility for infrastructure and control, business and team management, restructuring programs and new business development projects (1997-2005). In 2005, Patrick founded a business management consultancy firm servicing hedge funds, financial services start-ups and asset management companies. In November 2017, he joined Notz Stucki & Cie S.A. in Geneva as group Chief Operating Officer. Patrick is a graduate of Paris III University (1986).
Antonio Mira is our chief financial officer and heads the corporate functions. As such, he is very much involved in coordinating and implementing the decisions of the Executive Committee – at the pinnacle of the Group’s day-to-day activities. Before joining Notz Stucki in 2006, he held high-ranking positions as a banking industry auditor at Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen. Antonio is a Swiss chartered accountant and a business graduate of Lausanne University (HEC).
Grégoire Notz, a director of the Notz Stucki Group, has sat on the Group’s board since 2008. Before joining the company in 1997, he held various positions at Permal Asset Management in New York, SBC Warburg in Zurich and Banco Santander in New York. Grégoire holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northeastern University and is graduate of Harvard Business School OPM (USA).
Damiano Paternó Castello heads the wealth management unit of the Group. Previous to joining us he was an executive director at Morgan Stanley for over a decade after managing portfolios for HNWIs at JP Morgan and HSBC Guyerzeller Bank in Geneva. Damiano is a politics graduate of Lausanne University.
Bernard Tracewski oversees the asset management department of the Group. A long-time executive of our company, he returned to Notz Stucki in 2010, after a six-year absence, when we merged with wealth manager Messidor Finance – a firm that he had co-founded. Bernard is a business graduate of Lausanne University (HEC).
After creating his own company in software development, Miguel-Angel worked as a consultant for Hewlett-Packard in Geneva and for the private bank Lombard Odier. Miguel-Angel joined the Notz Stucki Group in 1999 as an analyst developer, and then took the position of head of the IT Department in 2009. A graduate of the school of Lausanne HES electronics engineer, Miguel-Angel holds a diploma of management scientist HES du Valais, as well as an EMBA within the HEG Geneva specializing in enterprise risk management.
Caron Bastianpillai oversees Notz Stucki's longshort equity strategies. After beginning his career in 1990 as a product manager in equities at Thomson Financial Services, he joined Banco Santander Group in 1994 where he was responsible for research, due diligence and portfolio management in connection with hedge fund strategies. In 2001, Caron joined Optimal Investment Services SA (a wholly owned subsidiary of Banco Santander Group); in 2005, he became a managing director, responsible for leading a research team in global equity hedge strategies. He joined Notz Stucki in 2008. Caron holds a bachelor's degree in international business from Richmond College in London, a BBA in marketing from the University of Houston and an MBA in international management from the European University in Geneva.
Alexandre Chenaux is our Compliance Officer. Prior to joining Notz, Stucki in 2013, he worked at the Banque Bonhôte exercising various Executive Assistant functions. Alexandre holds a master degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Fribourg and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Compliance Management from the University of Geneva.
Frédéric de Poix oversees the development of Notz Stucki’s private clients in addition to providing portfolio management. Prior to joining Notz Stucki in 2013, he worked in private wealth management at Morgan Stanley and Hyposwiss after starting his career as a coffee trader at Sucres et Denrées and regional manager at Finagrain, a subsidiary of the Continental Grain Company. Frédéric is a graduate of the EPSCIGroupe ESSEC Business School (France).
Cédric Dingens, a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, oversees the Investment Solutions & Alternative Investments at Notz Stucki. He is also a member of the Portfolio Management & Hedge Fund Selection team. Before joining Notz Stucki headquarters in Geneva, Cédric managed portfolios at the Group’s Luxembourg offices and developed an in-house risk management solution, drawing upon his degree in quantitative finance from the Ecole des Mines, Nancy (France).
As CEO and board member of Notz Stucki Europe, a fully licensed management company in Luxembourg, Paolo Faraone is responsible for fund engineering and EU distribution, shaping the Group’s pan-European strategy and positioning. After beginning his career at Citigroup Dublin, he joined Vontobel Management, where his responsibilities as director and executive manager included heading both client services and management company teams. He joined Notz Stucki in 2010. Paolo holds a degree in political science from the Università degli Studi di Pavia (Italy) and Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca (Spain), as well as an MBA from Manchester Business School (UK).
Marie-Caroline Fonta serves as a portfolio manager at Notz Stucki; she is also active in investment research. During her master’s studies, she was part of a team that prepared financial analysis and a research report on a designated company for the CFA Institute Research Challenge, winning the competition in Switzerland and finishing as an EMEA regional finalist. Marie-Caroline holds a bachelor’s degree in management and a master’s degree in finance, specialising in financial engineering and risk management, from HEC Lausanne.
LioneΙ FoscoΙo analyses and monitors the investment’s risks made by Notz Stucki in respect with the internal investment’s guidelines. Prior to joining Notz Stucki, he assumed the roles of quantitative analyst and fund allocator for EIM S.A from 2004 to 2013. LioneΙ FoscoΙo holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Geneva University (HEC Genève) and is Level ΙΙΙ candidate in the CFA program.
Pablo Gomez is deputy-chief financial officer. In addition, he is a stakeholder in various key projects of the Group and as such is co-responsible with Amélie Janssens de Bisthoven for their implementation. Before joining Notz Stucki in 2014, Pablo was managing finance and operations at Wycombe Financial Services. He started his career as FX trader at Banco Santander before joining the fund industry at Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young. Pablo is Certified International Investment Analys (CIIA).
Before joining Notz, Stucki & Cie to launch the firm’s first in-house UCITS alternative investment strategy focusing on Emerging Markets, Hicham was Partner and Fund Manager at Mars Capital SA (MCSA), where he was managing a global long/short fund focusing on Emerging Market debt, credit and currencies.
Hicham started his career in 2003 as a Fixed Income Credit Proprietary Trader at CDC Ixis Capital Markets in Paris (now Natixis). Subsequently joined HSBC Global Markets Exotics Rates Trading and Structuring early 2005. In 2007, he moved to Emerging Market Clients Solution Group at Credit Suisse Investment Bank in London (ex CSFB). In 2009, he joined Aurel BGC Paris to set up the Emerging Market Credit franchise.
Graduated in Banking from Paris Dauphine University and holds a Master Degree in Portfolio Management from IAE Gustave Eiffel in Paris.
Marc Hoegger overseas the various Investment Funds of the Notz Stucki Group as well as the White-Label Funds. As a long time senior executive of our company he focuses also on private and institutional clients. After beginning his career at Price Waterhouse he joined Bank of America and Chemical Bank, active in the Portfolio Management. Marc is an economics graduate of Lausanne University (HEC).
Amélie Janssens de Bisthoven is in charge of the Business Intelligence unit and is co-responsible for Project Management within the Group. She structures and keeps records of global corporate KPIs for Notz Stucki’s management. In addition, she is a stakeholder in various key projects of the Group and as such is co-responsible with Pablo Gomez for their implementation. Prior to joining Notz Stucki, she was instrumental in driving business-development projects for asset management and specialist press firms. Amélie holds a bachelor’s of business administration from the International University of Geneva, where she graduated summa cum laude as valedictorian.
Pierre Mouton heads up the Group’s Long Only Strategies. Prior to joining Notz Stucki in 2003, he successively managed money-market, fixed-income and equity portfolios at La Mondiale, after which he was a portfolio manager at Fiduciary Trust. He is also the cofounder of Messidor Finance. Pierre holds a Degree and a Master of Science in finance, actuarial studies and portfolio management from SKEMA Business School in Lille (France).
Maya Page-Feuz, our chief legal counsel and compliance officer, is an essential part of the executive as the weight of regulations increases in the industry. After some years in legal practice in the US and Geneva , she worked over 7 years in the legal department of a major Swiss bank before coming to Notz Stucki group in 2000 to become our head of legal and compliance . She holds a master degree in comparative law and is a licenced lawyer in both New York and Geneva.
Romain Pidoux heads the Risk Management of the Group. Prior to joining Notz Stucki, he focused heavily on risk analysis and monitoring to ensure compliance with investment guidelines. Romain is also backed by extensive experience in hedge fund portfolio management and research. He is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) and holds a master’s degree in international relations from the Graduate Institute of International Studies at Geneva University.
Patrick Piralla is responsible for managing back- and middle-office operations and acts as internal controller for Notz Stucki’s FoHFs. Before joining Notz Stucki in 2008, he served as an executive director at UBS Investment Bank, where he was responsible for modelling market risks for the UBS group. Patrick holds a degree in chemical engineering in addition to a business degree from the University of Geneva.
Sébastien Poiret manages funds of hedge funds and private client mandates at Notz Stucki. He is also overseeing the development of the Group’s offices in Mauritius. He joined Notz Stucki in 2008 after serving as a trader, head of manager research and portfolio manager in the USA and Switzerland for a single hedge fund and Grupo Santander’s fund-of-hedge funds operations. Sébastien holds a bachelor’s degree in corporate finance from the ESPEME Business School (EDHEC Group) and an MBA in finance and economics from the Institute of Business Administration, both in Nice.
Angel Sanz, CFA, is responsible for the Group’s Multi-Asset Solutions & Asset Allocation. He brings with him extensive investment experience, having held three CIO positions prior to Notz Stucki, namely at M&B Capital, BBVA Asset Management and Bankia. Ángel also boasts industry expertise as an engineer with AT&T Bell Labs (USA). He holds an MBA from Lehigh University (USA), and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Valladolid (Spain), for which he received a national academic-achievement award.
Hilmi A. Ünver heads the UHNWI and Family Office business unit of the Notz Stucki Group and sits on Notz Stucki’s asset allocation committee. He has over 25 years of experience in the financial markets and was a pioneer investing in hedge funds. During his tenure as the CIO of the alternative investments, he served on the investment committee of one of the oldest and largest fund of funds, Haussmann. Prior to joining Notz Stucki a decade ago, Hilmi began his career in 1990 as an internal auditor at Republic National Bank of New York. He joined the external funds department at Lombard Odier & Cie in 1995, where he was co-responsible for externally managed fund of funds. He joined Octogone in 1999 as head of fund research, becoming a partner in 2002. Hilmi holds a BBA from Hofstra University (New York) with a major in banking and finance.
