Biographies
Christian Stucki
Christian Stucki holds a doctorate in law from Zurich University. With Beat Notz, he co-founded the Notz Stucki Group whose origins date from 1964. Previously he had spent five years as financial adviser to the Quilmes-Bemberg Group and, in 1968, he was a founding member of Europe’s first hedge fund company, Leveraged Capital Holdings, in collaboration with the Rothschild Group.
Christoph La Roche
With a Masters degree in Business Management from the University of Saint Gall (HSG), Christoph La Roche joined Notz, Stucki & Cie SA in 1969 as Christian Stucki’s assistant. From 1980 to 1990, he was CEO at Bank Adler & Co before returning to the Notz Stucki Group in 1990.
Marc Maisonneuve
A graduate in Business Management from Geneva University, Marc Maisonneuve joined the Notz Stucki Group in 1967. He became a Director in 1976. Before joining the Group, he had worked for several accountancy firms in Geneva.
Marc Hoegger
Having joined Notz Stucki & Cie SA in 1989, Marc Hoegger became a Director in 2001. An Economics graduate from Lausanne University (HEC), he had previously worked as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Operations Manager at Bank of America and Investment Manager at Chemical Bank.
Damiano Paternó Castello
A Political Science graduate from Lausanne University, Damiano Paternó Castello has more than 20 years’ experience in the world of investment. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1998, where he was Executive Director of Private Management, he became a Director of Notz, Stucki & Cie SA in 2009. Previously, he handled managed portfolios for wealthy clients at both JP Morgan and the private bank HSBC Guyerzeller in Geneva.
Herwig van Hove
A Director at Notz, Stucki & Cie SA since 2009, Herwig van Hove graduated in Applied Economics at the University of Anvers (UFSIA) before gaining an MBA at the INSEAD in Paris in 1998. With nearly 15 years’ experience in wealth management, he was Executive Director of Private Management at Morgan Stanley from 1999 to 2009. Prior to that, he ran Citibank’s office with special responsibility for Private Management.
Bernard Tracewski
An Economics graduate from Lausanne University (HEC), Bernard Tracewski joined Notz, Stucki & Cie SA in 1982 as a portfolio manager. Having been General Manager of the Notz Stucki Bank since 2000, he founded Messidor Finance SA in 2004. In 2010, that company became part of the Notz Stucki Group and he returned to the Group as a Director of Notz, Stucki & Cie SA.
Grégoire Notz
Holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University (Boston). Prior to joining the Notz Stucki Group in 1998 he worked for Permal Asset Management (New York), SBC Warburg (Zurich) and Banco Santander (New York). He is Director of Notz, Stucki & Cie SA since 2008.
Olivier Dunant (Chairman of the Board)
Is a partner of the Geneva law firm Borel & Barbey. He is a graduate of the University of Geneva Law School and Southern Methodist University Law School (Dallas) and is specialised in banking, finance and business law for Swiss or international finance and banking organisations.
Cédric Dingens
Is an engineer from the Ecole des Mines specialized in quantitative finance. He is qualified Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA). He worked in the Luxembourg Office of the Notz Stucki Group for 4 years and joined the Geneva headquarter in May 2006 where he is in charge of the risk management and quantitative analysis.
James Macpherson
Is a graduate of St. Andrews University. Prior to joining the London Office of the Notz Stucki group in 1994, he was working for Smith & Williamson Securities in London.
Antonio Mira
Holds an Economics degree from the Business School of the University of Lausanne (HEC) and is qualified as Certified Public Accountant. Before joining the Notz Stucki group in 2006, he worked both for Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young in the audit and business advisory services.
Pierre Mouton
Holds a degree in finance, actuarial studies and portfolio management from the Business School of Lille. He worked for La Mondiale from 1993 to 2001, where he successively managed money market, fixed income and equity portfolios. He then went to Bank Fiduciary Trust as equity portfolio manager. He joined Banque Notz Stucki in 2003 and then co-founded Messidor Finance where he was portfolio manager.
Régis Muletier
Régis founded J.P. Morgan’s Absolute Return Products (ARP) Group in 1989, which he managed for ten years until 2000. As Global Head of the ARP Advisory Group, he was responsible for all hedge fund advisory services provided to international private clients and J.P. Morgan Investment Management Inc. Régis also served as CIO, Head of Research and Chairman of the Investment Committee of J.P. Morgan’s Luxembourg funds of hedge funds since 1998. Prior to this he was a client advisor and trader at Unigestion S.A. and currency trader at Chase Manhattan Bank.
Maya Page
Holds a law degree from the University of Lausanne and a Masters in International Law from George Washington University, Washington DC, and is admitted to the Bars of New York and Geneva. Prior to joining the Notz Stucki group in 2000, she worked for various law firms in the US and Geneva, and spent over 7 years in the legal departments of Swiss private banks.
Patrick Piralla
Holds a HEC degree from the Geneva University and has an HES diploma in chemical engineering. He worked for UBS Investment Bank for 10 years, where he was an executive director in modeling market risks for UBS group. He joined Notz Stucki in 2008 where is in charge of leading the back and middle office operations, and controlling the Notz Stucki FoHF products.
Sébastien Poiret
Holds a masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Nice with majors in banking and finance (1997). Prior to joining the Notz Stucki Group in 2008, he worked during six years in the U.S. for two hedge funds as a trader/assistant portfolio manager involved in emerging markets and macro investing. He then joined Optimal Investment Services (Banco Santander’s fund-of-funds group) in 2004 and became lead Portfolio Manager for Global Trading strategies (macro, commodity and systematic/CTAs).
Hilmi A. Ünver
Holds a BBA from Hofstra University (New York) with a major in Banking & Finance. Before joining the Notz Stucki group in 2006, he worked from 1990 to 1995 at Republic National Bank of New York first as an internal auditor and then as an analyst in the hedge fund department. In 1995, he joined Lombard Odier & Cie in the external fund department, where he was co-responsible for the management of Lombard Odier fund of funds managed externally. He joined Octogone in 1999 as head of fund research and became a partner in 2002.
Romain Pidoux
has a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Geneva University , a Master’s degree with a concentration in International Economics from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva , and is a CAIA (Charted of Alternative Investment Analyst) charter holder since 2010. Romain joined Notz, Stucki & Cie. in May 2011 as Risk Manager. Prior to this, he was a Hedge Fund Analyst at Peak Partners SA., a fund of hedge funds Management Company based in Geneva (Switzerland). Before that, Romain was Head of Quantitative Analysis at a Family Office in Nyon (Switzerland). Romain has been a hedge fund allocator since 2005.
